Applied ethics projects (AEP)

Imagen 1Since 2001, the Research Group Practical Ethics and Democracy, led by Professor Domingo García-Marzá, has undertaken a line of work about transferring knowledge to institutions and companies. This group offers advanced services in which applied ethics projects are oriented, tested and directed in institutions by developing and implementing sophisticated ethics management tools.

The objective of these projects is to help companies and institutions to implement ethical values, define and manage their social and ecological responsibility, and solve possible moral conflicts.

Nowadays, the economic benefit and the social-ecological benefit ratio is what society demands, and the reputation of a company and institution depends mainly on their response to these new challenges. Applied ethics provides an innovative perspective for both the management and communication of a company’s social responsibility.

Putting into practice the different implementation projects has centred specifically on developing tools like: codes of ethics, codes of conduct, responsibility or sustainability reports, the ethical management of relationships with their stakeholders, materiality reports from the ethical perspective, training programmes in codes of ethics and codes of conduct, ethical lines and designing ethical management systems.

Our group has ample experience in SMEs and large-sized companies, and also in health organisations, universities and civic organisations. Its work method involves forming a joint working group from which the company is defined and accompanied through the whole process.
